Miss K shares the story of her boudoir shoot.

How did you first hear about Chestnut Artistry & Design and what made you want to book with us?
A friend of mine invited me to the group months before. Her photos were so beautiful but I never thought I’d ever do anything like that. I was far too insecure and didn’t realize how empowering boudoir could be. I went through an extremely tough time in my life and I struggled with my body but I decided to go for it.
What was your initial reason for booking?
I started dating someone that took the time to break down my walls and help me overcome my insecurities. I wanted to do something for him as a thank you to show him how much his words helped me to overcome those insecurities. He made me feel beautiful and I finally felt like a boudoir shoot was something I could do and that I wanted to do.
Did you have any expectations going into the shoot? What were they?
I had no idea what to expect. I was incredibly anxious. I had a difficult time being nude in front of my boyfriend so I was really nervous about being in skimpy lingerie in front of a complete stranger. I was nervous I wouldn’t like the way I looked.
What was it like seeing your images for the first time?
It felt surreal. I couldn’t believe it was me. I felt like I could finally see myself the way that my boyfriend did. I was excited to share the photos with him. It was so hard to keep it a secret.
What products did you purchase, and why do you think other women might love the same pieces?
I purchased a metal print and a photo album. It was really difficult to narrow down what images to pick and I ended up actually going with a bigger album than I originally anticipated because there were so many good shots. I honestly didn’t think that I’d like that many photos of myself. The albums are nice to have for yourself or a gift to your significant other.
Has anything changed for you since your boudoir experience and seeing your gallery? How has boudoir impacted your body image as a woman?
Boudoir helped me to love my body the way it is. It helped me to appreciate every blemish and stretch mark and to realize that beauty is much more than society’s standards. Beauty is a woman that has lived and owned her body and learned to love her body through every change and every phase of life despite what society tells her.
Would you recommend Chestnut Artistry & Design for the luxury boudoir experience to others?
I would absolutely recommend Chestnut Artistry & Design to others. Julia is one of those people that you just connect with instantly. She has such a passion for her career and she does everything she can to make you feel at ease. She is the best cheerleader to hype you up and get you amped up for the experience.
What advice would you give to another woman considering the boudoir experience with Chestnut Artistry & Design?
Do this for yourself. It’s worth it. We are so hard on ourselves and we don’t truly see how beautiful we are because we’ve been force fed this unrealistic standard of beauty our whole lives. I promise once you see yourself in these images, you will see yourself in a whole new light.
Is there anything else you’d like to add to your interview?
Trust Julia! Whatever poses she suggests or if she recommends an outfit, go with it! She takes SO many images that there is bound to be plenty of ones you love. She does this often and has an eye for it. She knows what poses are flattering and she won’t lead you wrong.
