Orlando Boudoir Photographer – “Boudoir Photos are More Than Just Sexy Pictures!”
An old saying goes, “it’s the thought that counts”. This phrase could not be more fitting when it comes to creating boudoir photos of your significant other. Boudoir photos are traditionally meant to be given as gifts to husbands, boyfriends or partners, but in this Orlando photographer’s studio, we put all the focus back to YOU!
The following is the meaning and the benefit of displaying boudoir photos in your home, along with some tips and encouragement for deciding to have your very own boudoir shoot too.
What is the meaning of boudoir?
According to Wikipedia, boudoir (pronounced boo-dwahr) means intimate bedroom or private sitting room. In photography, however, it describes a type of photoshoot that is for reminding women (and men or couples!) of their strength and sensuality as well as help them appreciate their bodies on an intimate level. If you’re planning on doing a boudoir shoot but aren’t quite sure what it involves or why you should do one, read on.
Why Get a Boudoir Photo Shoot?
The thought of being exposed and photographed can sometimes be scary; after all, who hasn’t feared being judged and disliked? But, when done correctly, posing for pictures can actually be quite empowering. You’ll have someone (that’s me!) with an expert eye looking at your body—and telling you how beautiful it is. In fact, many women agree that posing for pictures helped them love their bodies more and embrace their curves.
Are you the tired Mom that needs to fill up her cup? *Guilty!* We have been there too and understand that you just want to do something nice for yourself that ALSO helps to pick up the pieces you have put off for so long.
We also get a lot of women who have special occasions coming where they want to gift a significant other with some gorgeous photos of themselves! Or celebrate themselves and a personal achievement.
What Does a Boudoir Session Feel Like?
Boudoir photography is one of the most powerful experiences for women. Working past the self-doubt and pushing through the nerves and vulnerability is such an extraordinary and special process. I have a lot of clients tell me they were so nervous before walking through the doors. The most common thing I hear from is “Wow, that was a lot better than I thought it would be, why was I even worried?” I literally hear this from every woman that comes in. The hype my clients show after all is said and done is very rewarding for me! I know how my clients feel, getting in front of the camera for a boudoir shoot makes my nerves frazzled too. I always tell my clients, “I’ve got you, I am here for you every step of the way!”
My main focus is ensuring my clients come prepared and can leave their worries at the door. I like to sit in during the time my professional hair & makeup artists are pampering my clients and helping them forget and release their nerves.
Why it is ok to invest in yourself.
It can be difficult to invest in yourself and your own personal development. The feeling of guilt is common in women, especially Mom’s! There’s no denying that investing in yourself is one of the best decisions you can make for your future.
But how does it affect my future?
When you can look back at a self portrait and smile, you will remember that time you did something shamelessly for yourself. You may not realize it now, but your future self will be thankful for that boudoir shoot. Self love is one of life’s most beautiful attributes and a boudoir shoot is a great option to kickstart it all and fill your cup back up that you have spent countless years pouring into others. Treating yourself from time to time (in a healthy way) shows confidence in yourself and your beauty.
